Simon Estes

As a world-renowned opera singer, Simon Estes (86BM) has performed for popes and heads of state. Yet the bass-baritone also uses his voice to advocate for the health and well-being of children around the globe.

Most notably, Estes has been a key supporter of the United Nations Foundation's Nothing But Nets campaign—an international initiative to combat malaria by providing mosquito nets to the most vulnerable. For his efforts, the UI presented Estes with its International Impact Award this past November at a ceremony in the Voxman Music Building. Listen to his appearance on the UI's WorldCanvass show here.
