Thirteen Iowa students packed food, organized children's books, and painted housing to support youth education in Kansas City as part of the UI's Alternative Spring Break. The group (pictured) was one of 13 Hawkeye service teams across America using spring break to address issues such as homelessness and poverty. Iowa Club members nationwide—including in Kansas City—also joined the UI teams for dinner and a service project.

"[These] students are truly the best the University of Iowa has to offer," says graduate student and trip co-leader Jackson Kennedy, "and our Alternative Spring Break is crucial to helping them develop into leaders who will change the world."
