James W. Carney, 70BA, an attorney with the Carney & Appleby law firm in Des Moines and president of the National I-Club, recently received a Distinguished Alumni Award from Centerville High School in Centerville, Iowa.

Richard C. Coffin, 73BA, a partner with the Barg Coffin Lewis & Trapp law firm in San Francisco, has been named to the 2016 "San Francisco Environmental Lawyers of the Year" list by The Best Lawyers in America.

Gerald V. Cross, 76DDS, is a self-employed dentist in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Bradley I. Davis, 77BA, retired chairman and CEO of Hampton State Bank in Hampton, Iowa, has received the James A. Leach Leadership Award from the Iowa Bankers Association.

Patrick J. Dooley, 78MFA, is a professor of design at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, and a fellow of the American Institute of Graphic Arts.

Randall R. Evans, 72BA, a retired opinion editor for the Des Moines Register, is executive director of the Iowa Freedom of Information Council, an education and advocacy organization that promotes government transparency, in Des Moines.

Francis G. Hamit, 72BGS, 76MFA, is a screenplay writer, executive producer, and managing producer of the Kit Marlowe Film Company in London, England, which will produce the film, Christopher Marlowe.

Raymond W. Hosek, 78MS, is a graduate student in theology at St. Catherine University in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

Mary Bywater Cross, 64BA, a quilt historian and artist in Portland, Oregon, is a member of the board of trustees for the Herbert Hoover Presidential Foundation in West Branch, Iowa, and a member of the Iowa City High School Hall of Fame.

Deborah A. Davies Sedlacek, a 1968 graduate, is a faith community nurse for First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids.

Donald F. Rodawig, 52MA, 56MD, is medical director at Lakes Regional Healthcare Hospice in Spirit Lake, Iowa.

1940s

F. James Bradley, 48BA, 50JD, past president of the Iowa State Bar Association, co-founder of the Bradley & Riley law firm in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, past chair of the Iowa Client Security and Attorney Disciplinary Commission, and a member of the Board of Trustees of Mt. Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, has recently retired after practicing law for 65 years.
