"Part of the Plan" by Dan Fogelberg. It was my soundtrack in college and I was reminded of it following his death a couple of years ago. The message is simple but sometimes hard to fulfill: be true to yourself.

"True Grit" by Glen Campbell. It reminds me that there's more to come in life, even when life seems to be difficult at the moment. |
"Till I Collapse" by Eminem. I listened to it on repeat for one of my 20-mile training runs last year. It gives me motivation to not give up when I'm running marathons.
"The Obvious Child" by Paul Simon. |
"I'm Not As Good As I Once Was" by Toby Keith. |
I have played in Alumni
Band since 1973 and that is when we started playing "Hey Jude." Of all the songs that we've played over the years, this is one that has stayed with me. |
"When I Win the Lottery" by Camper Van Beethoven.
"Thunderstruck" by AC/DC. It starts slow, builds up, and gets the fans in the stands rollin'.
"I Will Survive." After any rough day and what life throws at you, it is very uplifting–and I love it in the movie The
Replacements. |
"Masterpiece" by Jessie J and "Fight Song" by Rachel Platten, because I am quite old and these women are quite young, and we feel the lyrics regardless. |
"Kooks" by David Bowie since it's fall. We have evening dance parties with the children when it gets dark early and the temperature becomes chilly. It's not exactly a hit song, but the lyrics are charming.
